B) Transmission weight of containers in elevating cranes No. 1,2,3 & 4 of the Thessaloniki Port Authority SA
The project involves a) the protection of crane overload and b) transmission with continuous flow, the weight of the suspended container to a central system.The overload protection is done by monitoring overload of each cable separately. In case of over a break stops elevation. We also monitor eccentric loading (direct warning) and total load (with direct lift interrupt).
The protection system consists of a plc, where it is processed and controls signals, and a display showing the lifted weight, the weight per side, the level of lifted Container etc. Also made history log and errors (alarms).The transmission of data from each central loading system is a serial manner (RS485). The transmitted data are: weight indicator, the indicator of overweight, the height indicator etc. The display data is possible on pda or smartphone, since we created a HTML page and used a webserver of plc.
